Reservation Fees Have Changed
Important Update: New Adoption Reservation Fee Policy
Dear Valued Supporters and Future Pet Parents,
At APES CIC, our mission is to ensure that every animal finds a safe, loving, and suitable home. To uphold our commitment to responsible pet adoption and to safeguard both animals and families, we are continually reviewing and updating our processes.
Why the Change?
Recent developments in our adoption procedures, particularly our enhanced checks for criminal history related to animal abuse or neglect, require us to have more time to thoroughly vet each application. These checks are vital to confirm that our animals are placed in homes where they will be well-cared for and protected.
What’s New?
Effective from today, our reservation fee has increased from £10 per week to £30 for one month. This one-time reservation fee allows us sufficient time to complete all necessary checks, including background screening, ensuring the animal is reserved under your name officially and professionally.
Why the Increase?
- Allows Adequate Checks: The extended period gives our team ample opportunity to review applications carefully and confirm suitability.
- Prevents System Abuse: The reservation fee acts as a safeguard against the system being misused or reserved without genuine intent, enabling us to prioritize serious applications.
How Will It Work?
- When you find an animal you are interested in, a reservation fee of £30 will be required to hold the pet in your name.
- During this period, we will carry out all necessary checks.
- If everything checks out, the animal remains reserved for you, and you will be contacted with next steps.
- If, for any reason, the application doesn’t pass the checks, the reservation can be canceled, and the fee will be non-refundable.
This change is effective immediately and aims to improve our adoption system to better serve animals and prospective owners alike.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to provide responsible and safe adoption experiences.
Thank you for helping us keep animals safe and loved.
