Our Commitment to Transparency
By APES CIC Communications Team

Building Trust Through Openness
At the Association of Protecting Exotic Species CIC (APES), we believe transparency is more than a principle—it’s a promise. Our mission, work, and decisions all reflect our dedication to the animals we protect and the people who support our cause. To ensure our community can always understand what drives us, we’ve created a new page dedicated entirely to our missions and organisational values.
Our Main Mission
We’ve launched this new section with the foundation of who we are—our Main Mission Statement. It defines our primary goal: to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome exotic pets while promoting education and responsible ownership across the UK.
You can read it here: Our Main Mission Statement.
This page serves as the starting point for anyone who wants to understand why we do what we do, and how every action we take connects back to animal welfare, education, and ethical practice.
More Missions Coming Soon
Our work goes beyond just one mission. We’re currently preparing additional sections that will outline other key missions of APES—including:
- Animal Welfare and Rehabilitation
- Education and Outreach
- Volunteer and Placement Development
- Community and Conservation Support
Each mission area will detail how we operate, what we’ve achieved, and how our supporters and volunteers can get involved.
Learn More About APES
Transparency helps build trust, and trust strengthens our ability to make real change. We invite everyone—supporters, students, and the public—to explore our mission page and learn more about how APES is working to protect exotic pets and promote responsible care across the UK.
