You can now reach the APES team around the clock. At busy times or during outages there may be short delays. Our new mobile ticketing helps us reply faster.

From today, APES Live Chat is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That means you can contact us any time for rescue, adoption, clinic and education enquiries. To keep responses flowing, we’ve introduced mobile ticketing so our staff can answer tickets while on the move.

Why it matters
People need animal welfare advice and support at all hours. Extending Live Chat to 24/7 helps us be there when it counts — whether you’re asking about adopting, seeking behaviour and welfare guidance, or looking for the right APES service.

What’s new

  • Live Chat is staffed day and night.
  • When our team is away from a desk, our secure mobile ticketing allows them to pick up and reply to open tickets on their phone or tablet.
  • If the chat is temporarily unavailable, you can leave a message and a ticket will be created so we can respond as soon as possible.

When the chat may be unavailable
While our aim is 24/7 coverage, there may be short periods when Live Chat is unavailable or response times are slower:

  • Short‑staffed times (for example, illness or unexpected absences)
  • Internet connectivity issues
  • All team members are busy with other chats

If you see the chat set to “Away” or the queue is full, please leave your message. Our system will open a support ticket and we’ll get back to you as quickly as we can.

Ticketing on the move
Our new mobile ticketing software means APES staff can:

  • Receive, claim and respond to tickets securely on mobile devices
  • Continue conversations started in Live Chat if they move away from a desk
  • Keep you updated without delay, even out in the community

How to get in touch

  • Start a Live Chat on our Contact page: https://apes.org.uk/contact
  • If your enquiry is urgent about an animal in immediate danger, please phone our clinic on 0300 302 0228 or your local emergency vet.
