Bringing Exotic Wildlife to Your Doorstep: APES CIC’s Educational Visits Take Flight
Get ready to welcome a world of wonder to your venue – APES CIC’s brand-new Educational Visits Program is now live! 🐢🦜

From curious classrooms to community centres, our visits deliver up-close encounters with a diverse selection of safely handled reptiles, birds, mammals and more. Each 45-minute session is led by our experienced animal educators, who tailor age-appropriate talks on biology, behaviour and habitat. Through hands-on handling and interactive Q&A, participants gain a deeper appreciation for animal welfare, the perils of the illegal wildlife trade and the vital importance of conservation.
At the heart of our mission is education and empathy. By bringing exotic species into your space, we aim to:
• Inspire stewardship for non-native wildlife.
• Equip learners with factual knowledge on husbandry and habitat protection.
• Highlight APES CIC’s broader efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome exotic animals.
Which encounter are you most excited about?
- Reptile discovery (think snakes, lizards and tortoises)
- Feathered friends (parrots, finches and raptors)
- Mammal marvels (small primates and exotic rodents)
- Live Q&A with our keepers
Booking is simple and flexible. We visit schools, colleges, youth clubs, care homes and community groups throughout the year. While sessions are offered free of charge, we kindly ask for a voluntary donation at the time of booking to support our rescue and rehabilitation work.
